Knitify Chart is a web-based editor for drawing, saving, and sharing knitting charts. Draw grid-based patterns with colors and knitting symbols, and export them as actual-size PDFs based on your gauge. It's for anyone who works with charts — designers who create and sell patterns, knitters who want to put their own characters and drawings into their projects, and students in knitting courses or certificate programs.

Projects will let you group charts, gauges, and notes together and manage them as a single knitting project. It's coming soon.

Knitify Chart uses Google sign-in only. Click Sign in and choose your Google account — no separate password is needed.

You can delete your account from the Settings page. Your data can be restored within 30 days of deletion; after that it is permanently removed.

You can switch between Korean and English using the language selector in the footer or on the Settings page. On your first visit, the language is set automatically based on your browser.

The editor includes a short guided tour. You can replay it anytime with the 'Replay tutorial' button in the editor's Settings panel, and hovering over any tool button shows its shortcut and description.

Gauge is the number of stitches (width) and rows (height) you get in 10cm of knitting. The same chart knits up at different sizes depending on your yarn, needles, and tension, so your gauge tells you how big the finished piece will be. Enter your gauge in the editor's grid settings panel and each cell's proportions change to match the real shape of your stitches (square to rectangular), so the chart previews at the proportions of the finished fabric. The measurement ruler (cm/inch) and actual-size PDF export also use this gauge to calculate the chart's real dimensions.

You can pick symbols from the palette, organized by category — basics like knit and purl, increases, decreases, cables, and more. The library is still growing, and we add new symbols regularly. If a symbol you need is missing, let us know via Contact!

Not yet. For now, charts are drawn by hand in the editor. Automatic image conversion is being considered for a future update.

Charts are saved to your account. Create a chart from My Patterns and it is stored on our servers, with your edits saved automatically as you work.

Yes. Charts are saved to your account, so sign in with the same account and you can pick up right where you left off on any device — PC, tablet, or phone.

A confirmation dialog appears before a chart is deleted, and deleted charts generally can't be recovered. Please delete with care.

All features are currently free. A monthly subscription is planned for the future, and we will announce details in advance.

Yes. Use the editor's export feature to save your chart as a PDF, PNG, or JPEG file.

Yes. Turn on the 'actual size' option in PDF export and the chart is sized based on your gauge. Large charts are split across multiple pages, and you can choose paper size, orientation, and margins. When printing, set your printer to 'actual size (100%)' rather than 'fit to page' for accurate dimensions.

You can switch a chart between public and private from the chart view. Public charts appear in the home feed, search, and your profile; private charts are visible only to you. This option may not be available for all chart types.

The home feed only shows public charts with a certain amount of painted cells beyond the background. Nearly empty charts (such as blank graph-paper-style grids) are hidden from the feed to keep it browsable, but you can still find them via search. Also make sure your chart is set to public — private charts don't appear on the home feed or in search.

Tap the share button on the chart screen to copy its link. Paste the link anywhere — messengers, social media — and anyone can open it. Note that private charts can't be viewed by others even with the link, so switch the chart to public before sharing.

Yes. You can duplicate your own charts as well as other people's public charts using the duplicate button on the chart screen. The copy becomes your own chart that you can edit freely without affecting the original, and the chart shows its relationship to the original pattern. When you publish an edited copy, please respect the original creator's copyright.

Yes. You own the copyright to charts you create yourself, so you're free to export them (e.g., as PDF) and sell them. However, charts based on someone else's characters, illustrations, or patterns can't be used commercially. There's no built-in marketplace, so selling takes place on external platforms.

Even if you drew the fan art yourself, the copyright in the character belongs to the original creator. Personal use and non-commercial sharing rarely cause problems in practice, but you are responsible for what you post, and charts may be hidden or removed if the rights holder objects or reports are filed. Selling character charts or otherwise using them commercially is prohibited.

No. Recreating a pattern that another designer sells and posting it publicly is copyright infringement and prohibited by our Terms of Service. Keeping a copy private for personal use is fine, but publicly posted infringing charts are hidden through reports, and repeated violations may lead to account sanctions.

Use the report button on the chart screen. Choose a reason and submit — reports are reviewed, and charts that accumulate multiple reports are hidden automatically.

Knitify Chart supports modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) on desktop, tablets, and phones, including touch and stylus input.

Yes. Both touch and stylus input are supported. Turn on pencil-only mode in the editor's toolbar and palm touches are ignored so only the stylus draws — great for working on an iPad.

There's no app-store app, but you can add Knitify Chart to your home screen and use it like an app. On iPhone/iPad, open it in Safari and tap Share → 'Add to Home Screen'; on Android, open Chrome's menu (⋮) → 'Add to Home screen'. You'll get an icon that launches full-screen.

No. Charts are saved to our servers, so an internet connection is required — including when you've added it to your home screen and use it like an app.

On iOS Safari, the system may reload a tab when device memory runs low. Your work is saved automatically, but if this happens often, try closing other tabs and apps.
